From the moment you enter Conscious Hotel Vondelpark, it becomes clear that it isn’t your average eco hotel. I’ve never seen green be this pretty while the atmosphere breathes eco-chic, cool and a little bit quirky. The lobby’s design details with a living green wall and recycled furniture really set the tone for my stay.

It was a joy to come back to!

If you are looking for some light refreshments, head downstairs to the hotel’s Instagram worthy Conscious café with its eye-catching living green wall for a cup of coffee, a cake or a glass of wine. I really enjoyed relaxing here for a little bit at the end of a long day.
Should you be in the mood for a bit more, I recommend going to the neon-lit In Bread down the street for a Japanese sandwich and a beer or home made soft drink (I found the freshly made passion fruit soft drink to be next level tasty). Otherwise I noticed a plethora of dining options within five minutes walking distance of the hotel such as the Spanish Parallel, Italian Gustatio or cozy café Buurt.
And if you’re feeling restless, back at the hotel there’s no shortage of activities to keep you entertained. Stroll through the first-floor corridor to admire the lush green roof (which I imagine to be buzzing with bees and butterflies during summer time), grab a board game from the café or head to the breakfast area where a table tennis setup invites a little bit of friendly competition.
Green Transportation Around Amsterdam
Conscious Hotel Vondelpark is also perfectly located to explore Amsterdam. You can rent a bicycle to get around like the locals: cheap, green and convenient. Both the Rijskmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum are only a seven minute bike ride away, while you can get to the Anne Frank House within 12 minutes.
